Why Saturn?

via giphy.

If you’ve been curious about the use of Saturn imagery. This blog is for you.

One day, while in the process of finishing my debut EP, I was doing some astrology reading when a passage about Saturn and the role it plays in our lives spoke to me / contained relevance to the EP and the role it had grown to play in my life.

Besides the fact that if we landed on this planet we would be CRUSHED by the extreme pressures and temperatures deep inside the planet - Saturn is the ringed planet who rules our karma, life lessons and responsibilities.

Saturn has a father-like energy, and the lessons we learn from this placement help us better understand the world around us. These lessons usually don’t come easily, as they require us to mature and refine ourselves.

Saturn shows us our shortcomings, our fears, and teases the thought, “what if my greatest limitation was my greatest strength?”

In our natal charts, the position of Saturn [by sign and house] reveals our limitations, fears, and sense of responsibility. My Saturn is in Aquarius. And simply put, I lack the ability to commit to something I can’t fully know the outcome of. However, when I do commit I can become attached - and not in a healthy way. So for me, tapping in enough to complete a project was a big deal - and no easy task! It was a challenge that forced me to really look at myself and trust myself to see myself! It required me to apply all that I’ve learned about love, life, friendships, relationships and business - very “Saturn return”.

And if this was a test, I think I passed :)
